Crash Tests

without comments

For anyone that puts auto safety as a priority when it comes to purchasing new cars and trucks should understand that certain models perform differently in a crash. Learning what the new auto safety information is will benefit each and every person seeking to purchase a safe vehicle. New vehicles are safer than vehicles in the past, however; their crash worthiness varies by individual models even in the same vehicle class.

Two different sources perform auto safety tests in the US one is nonprofit trade groups and the other is government agencies. All new cars and trucks in the US must meet and pass Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. The form includes that new vehicles must, meet a standard of 30-mph frontal and 33.5-mph side-impact compliance crash tests however, the safety of these vehicles above this standard varies. One thing you must understand is that the results for all models cannot be compared.

Unit-to-unit comparisons of frontal crash-test ratings are valid only within a vehicle class or between models of comparable weight within 250 pounds class. These tests will show how a car would stack up in a collision with another car of the same model and not compared with a larger or smaller vehicle or a lower or higher riding vehicle. Studies have shows that a heavier vehicle will protect its passengers better than a lighter one if all the factors tested were equal, however, they never are. Because of this, a large vehicle a Poor rating is not necessarily safer than a small vehicle with a Good rating.

You do need to understand that agencies test differently, as the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety conducts a frontal-offset crash into a deformable barrier that reacts like another vehicle. This type of test gauges how only half of the vehicle?s front end absorbs crash energy.

The NHTSA testers perform head on car crashes with firm solid objects, the results will never show the real outcome of a collision, as most crashes do not head a solid object head on. Anther test they perform include chance-of-injury stat?s based on trauma to the test dummies’ torsos, not their heads. In reality, a passenger?s head is more susceptible to injury in a side impact and head injuries are more serious and many times fatal.

As you are shopping for your new car, the information of these tests may not be available yet because it is still pending or the vehicle may not be eligible. The majority of the times, convertibles are not normally tested for this very reason. Results for new or recently re-engineered models are likely to appear months after the vehicle goes on sale because both agencies purchase their test subjects from dealerships, just as consumers do. NHTSA tends to note if a vehicle is TBT (to be tested) or if results are pending or under review; IIHS gives no clue as to future reports.

Nevertheless, cars and trucks are safer today than in the past. Modern technology has helped with all phases of car safety. However, you must remember that the crash worthiness does vary. Therefore, if you wish to have the fasts vehicle on the road but you are concerned about safety it would be in your best interest to compare safety ratings and performance test in within the same models.

6 Questions and Answers To Help Prepare You to Go through Menopause

    without comments

Are you or a loved one approaching the time of life many women fear — menopause? If so, you probably have questions about this sensitive subject.

Here are 6 answers to help you go through menopause as comfortably as possible:

    1. Why is menopause a puzzling time of life?

Before reaching the change of life, many women don’t know what to expect. That can be scary! There are horror stories floating around that can make women unnecessarily apprehensive, but you need to know that menopause is a normal part of your journey through life.

    2. At about what age does menopause begin?

Most women cease having periods between the ages of 45 to 55. However, menopause can be induced earlier by surgery.

    3. What are some of the symptoms?

During the early stages of menopause, called perimenopause, a woman’s menstrual cycle becomes irregular. When menopause has been completed, a woman no longer has periods at all. One of the most widespread symptoms of menopause is hot flashes and a high percentage of menopausal women have them. Some women experience feelings of depression while they are going through menopause and mood swings can accompany the change of life.

    4. What about hair loss during and after menopause?

Hair loss sometimes occurs to some women with the aging process. This is one of the most distressing side effects of menopause. However, there are a lot of women who don’t lose their hair during this transitional period in their lives. Some women have higher levels of the hormones that cause hair thinning. If you are experiencing hair loss, you should check with your doctor about treatment options.

    5. Are there any special nutrition recommendations for women going through menopause?

You might want to consider adding soy products to your diet to assist your estrogen levels. Be sure to get enough vitamin A to help your skin and hair to be as healthy as possible. Health food stores offer a variety of herbal extracts to help with menopausal symptoms.

    6. What medical help is available while you’re going through menopause?

Your doctor may prescribe treatment options to help lessen disturbing side effects of the change of life.

A combination of estrogen and progestin may be recommended by your doctor — if you don’t have a history of breast cancer in your family. There are treatments to help you if you are suffering from hot flashes that disturb your sleep and other symptoms as well

Although cessation of menstruation can be a puzzling time dreaded by many women, there are a number of advantages to this period of your life’s story. It’s a new chapter opening before you! You will probably be able to enjoy greater freedom than ever before to pursue interests you could not pursue before because of family responsibilities. Why not investigate new opportunities and challenges in this new chapter of your life!

Stress: Eliminate it From Your Life and Make Happiness Your Normal Lifestyle

    without comments

Is happiness and the feeling of gratitude what you feel on a daily basis or is stress and the feeling of being overwhelmed seem like a normal lifestyle? Has the feeling of being overwhelmed become so familiar that you don’t know any other way to live your life?

Being happy is a choice you face every day. To feel happy, whose responsibility is it? Do you depend on another person or thing to make you happy? Who is the only person who can make you happy?

If you’re struggling with the rough road of answering these questions, then it’s time to change your mindset and take responsibility for your own happiness. It?s time to figure out how to break the old mindset, get rid of the negative tapes or the thoughts that are not serving you to break free of frustration and stress. To strive for the “sigh of relief” feeling you get when you let go and learn to live a lifestyle of more ease, happiness and fun.

Finding balance in your personal and professional life can help you enjoy the feeling of peace within and true happiness. Yet, this is a huge challenge today for most people. Our lives seem busier than ever with the feeling of a “fast-paced get stuff done” type of lifestyle. Although everything around you can contribute to the very severity of your stress levels, stress is truly self-inflicted.

Here are three tips on how to shift your energy to help make happiness and joy your normal lifestyle:

    1) Be aware and recognize the stressful situation by noticing where it is showing up in your body. Do you have tension or aches and pains in your shoulders, neck, chest, or stomach? Pay attention to what your body is telling you. This is your red flag.

    2) Accept the situation. It is what it is. Yes, life can be very challenging at times. Now ask yourself: “Do I really want to continue feeling this way? If I keep feeling this way, will this make the situation better? How can I help myself?”

    3) Are you familiar with the Laws of Attraction? Maybe you have heard the expressions, ?What you think about, you bring about? or ?The more attention you give to something, the more attention it will give to you.? Be the chooser of your thoughts! Feel the power within.

Recognize if your feelings are low energy or high energy. Several examples of low energy are stress, negativity, fear, resentment, worry, despair or a sense of lack (lack of time or money). High energy is joy, abundance, happy, positive, appreciation, love or compassion. Notice how you are feeling just by saying the low and high-energy words. Which words dis-empower you? Which words empower you?

If you are having feelings of low energy, how do you make a shift to feel more of the high energy?

As mentioned in step two, acknowledge and accept the feelings you are having. Be gentle with yourself. Your goal is to make a shift, but realize you might not be able to go from low to high instantly. Start with baby steps.

How to shift from low energy to high energy — select a method that works best for you or use a combination. Before choosing a method, imagine you are standing at the bottom of a set of stairs. As you help yourself shift to higher energy, you will be able to step up to the next step. Keep amping up your high energy and before you know it, you will be at the top of the stairs. Isn?t it great up there? Here are a few methods to get you started:

    1) Become present in the moment by observing everything around you this very minute. Use all your senses. Put yesterday’s worries and tomorrow’s concerns aside and think about only the present moment! Observe everything around you as if you had to describe it to someone over the phone.

    2) Focus on what is working ?right? in the situation and build on that. Yes, you may be facing a very challenging situation, yet try to find something that is working or going right, no matter how small to help you move forward.

Think about it…does it seem that people or situations around you have changed or is it you who has really changed? So, who has the power to feel their own joy and happiness? You do?be the chooser.

    E-Newsletters … Trash or Treasure?

    without comments

Most of us receive dozens of e-zines, e-newsletters or e-bulletins in our inbox each week. Many of these are just ?spam? – useless advertising messages that seem to jam the inbox all the time.

But sometimes, in the pile of inbox rubbish, you get something that is worthwhile – an e-newsletter that is worth reading and full of interesting information.

So, the important thing to think about is that some e-mail pieces and e-newsletters are read, if they are well written. You need to write them in an interesting way and include useful, valuable information and you will develop a loyal following. This loyal following, in time, will turn into a significant increase in your sales.

Some of these emails that appear in your inbox can be written either in plain text or in HTML. Which one is best?

Should you use HTML or plain text?

It depends on your circumstances. Newsletters in plain text are usually the best option, but HTML is also acceptable these days. HTML can be very expensive, so if you have only a small budget, you may not be able to afford the design fees for a HTML version.

You will find there are ?for and against? for each type. HTML looks more professional on the one hand, but it is does not the appearance of a personalized email, so there’s every likelihood that it may not be read.

Which one you use depends on your situation and the type of business you are in, your client profiles and what you hope to achieve with your e-newsletter.

It is important that your e-newsletter contains interesting articles and that the information is easy to read.

Hints on writing your e-newsletter articles:

    1. In an introductory paragraph introduce subscribers to what they will learn

    2. Include interesting headlines which are enticing and curiosity-building.

    3. At the start of the email, you could include a “what’s inside” section.

    4. You can include a paragraph which links through to the full article on your website

    5. Include a list of past articles at the bottom with links to your website

    6. Your lead article should be a very short, “quick tips” article so people can view at least one article without clicking through to your site.

    7. Include special offers, contents and surveys to involve your audience.

    8. You can also include links to interesting resource sites they might appreciate.

    9. Your e-newsletters should not be used solely for promoting special offers or selling stuff, because people don?t appreciate that and you?ll lose many of your subscribers if you do.

Railway Travel In Kenya from Nairobi to Mombasa

    without comments

Recently, a colleague in our busy office confided in me that he wanted to take a Railway travel in Kenya. What he did not know is the fact that i have visited Kenya five times for the last five years i have had a vacation. I knew he was making the best decision to tour the action packed country. Unlike in Europe or USA the Kenya railway system is not expansive and does not contribute much to the development of the this Country. Almost all Passenger and Cargo transport is done through the dilapidated road network.

One thing that you should not miss though is the Railway travel From Nairobi to Mombasa. The Railway Line is operated by Rift Vally Railways, a private company that only took the operation of the the extensive Mombasa to Kampala Railway system only recently after Kenya and Uganda ran it down for donkey years bringing cargo and passenger transport to a halt.

Most of this Railway line traverses through the Tsavo National Park, Kenya’s largest national animal park, Famous for its wide range of wild animals especially elephants, rhinos and Zebras. You will experience the spectacular views of the Great Rift valley as the Railway line winds through the escarpment down to the base of Mt. Longonot, Fresh water Lake Naivasha, Mushrooming flower farms and the Flamingo inhabited Lake Nakuru. As You reach Kisumu you are treated to the Kakamega Rain Forest Reserve, A hub for beautiful bird life and indigenous trees.

Currently, the Rift Valley Railways company Ltd. operates an overnight express train service between Nairobi and Mombasa. Unfortunately you will not be able to watch wild animals but you will sure be treated to one of Kenya’s greatest travel experiences. The train is divided into three classes. A seat only 3rd Class compartment which i would not advise you to book since it is pubic and not very secure and a comfortable 1st and 2nd Class compartment where you can get Dinner, Breakfast and refreshments in the form of alcoholic drinks, mineral water and Soda. Make sure to swallow a pint of Kenya’s’ Favorite beer ‘Tusker’, It comes as cold as you ordered it, though locals prefer it warm.

The train to Mombasa leaves Nairobi every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1900 hrs. From Mombasa to Nairobi, it leaves every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. It would be important to book your compartment at least a day or so before departure time to avoid last minute frustrations since in Kenya the train stations are not computerized and virtually everything moves at snail speed.

It would be prudent to make an arrangement with your travel company in Nairobi or Mombasa for their staff to do the railway travel Kenya booking for you, otherwise if you decide to do it yourself beware of conmen and cheats who will readily offload your backpack with impunity. You will be able to pay for your railway travel Kenya with the Kenya Currency, US Dollars or Even Credit Cards. The railway staff will readily accept both VISA and Master Card

    without comments

Seduction is the most exciting thing in a relationship. It isn’t bad or wrong, it’s absolutely necessarily. The power of seduction is a gift. But not all of us have it, so we have to learn how to seduce the woman we want. Seduction can mean a couple of different things: it is a method that lets men have more success with women on a regular, repeatable basis and also it is a process by which one person leads another to the beginning of a sexual relationship.

Choose very well your target. Maybe it is there a beautiful sexy lady after you look anytime you see her on the street, but you never think that you will have a chance with her. Why don’t you try to seduce her, maybe you’ll win. But before you start, you must know that there are a few steps in seducing a woman:

    - you have to be ready so get over your past rejection, overcome your shyness and clear your mind and think about what about you are going to talk with her

    - interrupt her and get her attention next time when you see her; initiate with women, it takes guts to ask her out, ask her phone number

-create a conversational connection with her and show that you are able to understand her, make her sees you as romantic partner; lots of women love this

Considering that you get your first date with her, here are some tips for seduction that might help you:

-first of all, train your mind and focus on your goal, and remember that your goal is to get that woman; so you must know which are the mistakes from the past, and not make them again

-choose the perfect place for effective seduction, a place with a comfortable atmosphere, avoid places too bright lights or too dull ambiance

-eliminate every possible obstacle; convince yourself from the beginning that you can seduce her, even if you never did this before

    The Upcoming 2008 Presidential Race

    without comments

A few days ago, I realized that the US presidential election is fast approaching. You see, I was watching the news a few nights ago and I saw a political ad endorsing Sen. Hillary Clinton. I also saw the results of the results of the recent election 2008 polls on the news. It dawned upon me that the election will be held next year. This event is clearly very important because it will determine the direction of our country. It will also affect the whole world as the newly elected president will make decisions regarding foreign policies.

Of course, the next thing that entered my mind was the possible candidates who will be competing for the presidency. I also realized that I know very little about the election so I need to do some reading about the election and the candidates so that I can make a wise decision. I decided to hop on my PC and some online research about the 2008 presidential race and the candidates.

Thanks to modern technology and the World-Wide-Web, gathering information about a certain subject has become easy and convenient. You don?t have to go to a library to delve into a topic nowadays. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection and you can get your hands on all the information you need. The best thing is that you can do it all at the comforts of your own home.

Anyway, I found a lot of information about the 2008 presidential race on the Internet. For instance, I found out that the upcoming election will be the first election without incumbents in 80 years. The vice president is normally the leading candidate and nominee to succeed an American President that is about to leave his office. However, there is no incumbent president seeking re-election and no incumbent vice-president attempting to win office on the upcoming election. This is significant because the incumbent Vice President has immediately thereafter run for President in the three most recent presidential administrations featuring an outgoing, two-term president.

As you probably know, Dick Cheney, the current Vice President of the United States, announced that he would never run for president in 2001. This means that the 2008 presidential race, will apparently be a non-incumbent or “open seat” election in which neither the sitting President nor the sitting Vice President will be a candidate. The last non-incumbent or “open seat” election happened in 1928.

I also found out in the course of my research that, six candidates has achieved “front runner” status. These are John McCain of Arizona, Mitt Romney of Massachusetts and Rudy Giuliani of New York on the Republican side; and John Edwards of North Carolina, Barack Obama of Illinois and Hillary Clinton of New York on the Democratic party. These candidates are currently leading on the recent 2008 election polls but the figures may change as we move closer to the election.

Are you also interested in the upcoming election? If you are, then all you have to do is hop on your PC or Mac. You can easily check out the latest news, polls, and information on the candidates and the progress of the election on the web. You can even visit the campaign websites of the candidates to offer your support and give donations to the candidate of your choice.

How Much Money Will I earn Through Adsense?

    without comments

Current info about Adsense is not always the easiest thing to locate. Fortunately, this report includes the latest Adsense info available.

If you’re looking at Google’s AdSense program you’re surely asking yourself how much you could make from such a program, and you probably think you can’t make as much as you can from traditional advertising schemes.

Google, of course, keeps a great deal of secrecy regarding how much AdWords advertisers pay per each click directed to their site and the same applies for how much AdSense banner holders make from their websites.

While there’s nothing official, rumors circulate around the Internet concerning the amount of cash a website can earn by using AdSense. And many people (illegally) disclose how much they have been making with AdSense. There are stories of people raising over one thousand dollars per month using AdSense.

There are also stories of people exceeding $100,000.00 per month but it’s a bit hard to believe such stories. The truth to the matter is that if you have a small website and you just want it to support itself, and don’t wish to reach your pocket for its maintenance costs you can probably do this with AdSense.

AdSense is also very good for people who host a lot of pages. Even if the said pages don’t generate a lot of traffic individually, every click counts and you can earn up with a lot of money by doing this. And that just goes to prove that sometimes quantity matters nearly as much as quality.

There’s no telling how much money you’re going to make by using Google’s AdSense but you can sort of tell for yourself, before actually starting, by taking a few things into consideration.

First, is the amount of visits you get every day. While there’s no way to estimate precisely on this, you can generally make a safe assumption that if you have a lot of clicks per day you’ll be making good money.

So far, we’ve uncovered some interesting facts about Adsense. You may decide that the following information is even more interesting.

Also, this depends on what exactly your site is about. If your site is about anything popular (music, sex, whatever) you’re bound to get a lot of banner clicks. These have a coefficient associated with them, called the CTR (click through ratio).

Basically, what it translates to is that if a large proportion of your site’s visitors click the ads you’ll be making more money. And the best way to do this is to have some popular content in your site, ensuring the links direct users towards popular items as well.

Then of course, there’s the position and number of ads on your website. While you don’t want to overdo it, having many links will undoubtedly generate more income for you as a webmaster. Do not however believe, that if you just add a lot of ads in an important portion of your site, visitors could always just skip them (and be assured that many do just that).

There’s something between an art and a science to positioning your ads. People generally look in certain places and never look in others, and knowing this a website author and/or webmaster can do a great deal of things to increase his earnings with AdSense.

All in all, the amount of money you make with AdSense depends on many factors. But if you have a site with interesting contents and/or many pages, and if you see a constantly large amount of traffic every day, you can bet you’ll be making a lot of money with AdSense.

Even if you aren’t in the above categories, AdSense is still worth using because there’s very little hassle in setting it up, and many times it can help financially support the site, whilst being a nice bonus to get through the post at the end of the month.

So now you know a little bit about Adsense. Even if you don’t know everything, you’ve done something worthwhile: you’ve expanded your knowledge.

Guitar Scales – Learn Guitar Lessons

    without comments

According to the English dictionary (http://www.dictionary.com) a guitar scale (or any music scale for that matter) is ?a succession of tones ascending or descending according to fixed intervals, esp. such a series beginning on a particular note.? Understanding and playing a guitar scale involves knowing some of the basic things about guitar playing. You have to know the different parts of the guitar, the numbers of the strings and also the way fingers are numbered, because learning guitar means developing a correct technique from the very first lessons. The reason you need this information is because some of the more advanced guitar scales are quite difficult to play if you don?t follow the indication, e.g. which note is played on which string using which finger. You can find a lot of useful information about these basic things on the Internet.

The first guitar scale you will ever learn, whether you are learning guitar with a teacher or from a book, is the so-called Chromatic guitar scale. The scale starts with the E string open, then you play the E string on the first fret, then the second fret, then third and fourth, and then you continue on the A string, first fret, second, third, fourth, and so on until you play all the notes on the e string. The only exception is that you do not play the G string on the fourth fret, after the third fret on the G string you continue directly to playing the open B string.

And there you go you have just learnt to play your first guitar scale. This might be a little disappointing, but fear not, there are a lot of much more complicated guitar scales out there and you will be challenged when trying to play them. This first guitar scale, however, the easiest of them all, has its point. It builds the muscles on your left hand and helps you learn how to stretch your fingers. In time, you will come across much more complicated and advanced exercises, but this first on is very useful also. And if we haven?t managed to convince you of its usefulness, you should know that such artists like Joe Satriani or Dave Murray of Iron Maiden still play this particular guitar scale before a gig.

The most important thing to do when playing the chromatic guitar scale is using your fingers correctly. The notes on the first frets on each string are played using the first finger, the notes on the second frets with the second finger, and so on. This is very important so be very careful about this aspect.

There are, of course, a lot of other guitar scales you can play. You should, however, take them progressively, don?t jump to the hardest even if you can play it. Every guitar scale has its purpose, it teaches something new, and it improves your technique. Take the E phrygian scale, for example. It teaches you how to coordinate your fingers, how to move your fingers to gain speed. Other guitar scales you should look at (and you will find plenty of info, pictures and movies on the Internet) are the A Blues scale, the pattern for the major guitar scale, which is a moveable pattern, the Harmonic, the Pentatonic, and the Diminished scales. A good place to start is http://www.all-guitar-chords.com. They have an extensive database of scales and chords. Search the guitar scales mentioned above, which are all beginner scales meant to improve the playing technique. However, you can also find more complicated guitar scales.

    Site Optimization For The People

    without comments

We count on and trust links from authority sites, as well as the Search Engines and Directories to point us in the direction of sites we need. Let’s discuss this ‘trust’ from the standpoint of positioning your Web business.

When you have generated traffic to your site, you need to give people what they are really looking for. In particular, you must deliver genuine answers and real benefits through your site copywriting.

This is a big stumbling block for those who use doorway pages to maximize their search engine positioning – without taking into account their human visitors.

You know clearly focused keywording throughout your site is fundamental to successful search engine positioning. So how do you write the words on your page to accent your site theme for the search engines, and more importantly, serve your customers?

    Go Belly to Belly

The answer is to write for people first, not search engines. The Web business medium incessantly vies for our attention and fragments our thoughts. It’s exhausting! Doesn’t it make sense to create a Web site that offers shelter from the online storm?

A key marketing thought to consider is that a few hundred well-satisfied customers can feed you, clothe you, and take care of you into your ripe old age.

These ‘customers for life’ can only be yours if you and your Web site are thoroughly personal service oriented. It’s a powerful way to separate yourself from your competitors who think automation is the only answer for Web success.

Here are 10 key questions to help you with this approach. The answers you generate will inform your Web site writing.

    o Your Product/Service

    1. For your site visitors: What are the specific results/benefits you provide the people who buy from you?…

    2. Your products and services: please list two short key phrases that describe exactly what you supply…

    3. What’s your single, most marketable and unique, competitive edge? This is your key Unique Selling Proposition (USP).

    4. Describe your product/service in detail…

    A. List 7 key features that pop out at you:

(A feature is a fact about a product or service, such as “wash cold, hang dry”, or “made in Morocco”. Features demonstrate how things are created, delivered and maintained.)

    B. List 7 enormous benefits your products/services give your site visitors…

(A benefit is anything that will make someone’s life better, easier or more productive by using your product or service.)

    5. Which product/service is your ‘best of the best’ – your #1 most popular, profitable or marketable offering?…

    o Your Site Visitor

    6. Who is your perfect site visitor? Supply as much detail as you can: demographics (gender, age, employment, etc), geographics (location, country, city, etc), psychographics (culture, interests, lifestyle, etc)…

    7. List 7 unique and interesting facts you really want site visitors to know about you and the products/services you provide…
